How to Accessorize with Jewelry (according to howto.com)
- 1
Make sure that when you pair different pieces of jewelry together you are mindful of the materials they are made of. You wouldn't want to mix a glass beaded necklace with a stretchy rubber bracelet and wooden beaded earrings.
- 2
Choose jewelry that compliments your outfit. The colors don't need to be the same, but complimentary, like any other accessory.
- 3
A little can go a long way. If you have one focal piece (usually a necklace) the rest of your jewelry should be more discreet so as not to distract from the necklace. The goal is for someone to say "Oh you look nice" and not "Oh, wow. You have pretty jewelry." Be the Diva, not the jewelry store girl.
- 1
You can purchase personalized necklaces that showcase a picture of a loved one or favorite place.
- 2
Make sure your necklace doesn't cross the neckline of your shirt. The only time this is acceptable is when you're wearing one of those super-long beaded necklaces. Usually you'll be wearing a shorter piece and the centerpiece will be at the collarbone.
- 3
Be sure to "test drive" your neck wear before your big event. Sometimes beads and clasps can pull at your hair or scratch your skin. You wouldn't want to have to remove your accessories during the dance, wedding or formal event.
- 4
Try pairing a more formal piece, like Swarovski Crystals and pearls with a more casual outfit. Throw on a pair of sexy heels and your Jeans and Tshirt will look hotter than ever.
1
When your bracelets are small and skinny, you can wear several of them together.
- 2
If your bracelet is beaded or hinged it can stand alone as an accessory to any outfit, and should only be paired with a smaller, chain bracelet or similar bracelets.
- 3
Solid formed bangle bracelets are fun to wear and still a surprisingly popular accessory, even though they haven't changed much since the 1980's.
- 1
Be sure your earrings compliment your hair style. Wearing gigantic complicated earrings with a shorter hairdo will surely make you guilty of over-accessorizing, no matter what the outfit looks like.
- 2
Likewise, if you have a lot of hair, you can get away with a bulkier earring.
- 3
Since the earrings and the necklace are both visible together it is very important to make sure they go together. Similar bead work, metal embellishments (if any) and complimentary color schemes are a few things to look for in matching jewelry.

Here is a little bit about Lindsay, the owner and operator of Simon and Ruby:
I am an individual born of my experiences. I’ve found a way to combine some of my favorite childhood memories to create art that I love. Both my grandmother and my great grandmother were seamstresses, so some of my earliest memories are of sitting with jars of buttons and beads spread around me, playing and combining colors that I liked. Simon and Ruby, my jewelry line, was born in 2008 in response to my burning desire to create a tangible, wearable piece of art.
Each piece jewelry is handcrafted and designed with a story in mind. My designs are influenced heavily by my travels as well as characters in the books I read and movies I watch. I collect semi precious stones, glass, and vintage pieces from all over the world to create not only a beautiful piece of jewelry, but an intriguing story as well. I hope you love this collection as much as I do!
GORGEOUS!
These earrings are well made, made with quality stones and metals, and are VERY flattering! I LOVE THESE EARRINGS!
